Our INESCAPABLE??? Skynet Future

Filed under: Uncategorized — rrtucci @ 6:01 pm

Great American patriots like Bradley Manning and Edward Snowden taught us nothing.

From the prophetic 1984 film The Terminator

The Terminator: The Skynet Funding Bill is passed. The system goes on-line August 4th, 1997. Human decisions are removed from strategic defense. Skynet begins to learn at a geometric rate. It becomes self-aware at 2:14 a.m. Eastern time, August 29th. In a panic, they try to pull the plug.

Sarah Connor: Skynet fights back.

The Terminator: Yes. It launches its missiles against the targets in Russia.

John Connor: Why attack Russia? Aren’t they our friends now?

The Terminator: Because Skynet knows the Russian counter-attack will eliminate its enemies over here.

  1. Oh dear! At 2007 I wrote a book titled “Techno-Feudalism” to promote a slightly more complex argument. For it is rather probable that a trully smart, thinking machine will also depend on it’s environment providing the learning material. Including all human history, such machine -or machines even worse!-will soon discover that continuation of “herding” the human sheep is a much more profitable engagement than utter distruction. For all its worth, such human toys will perhaps appear much more entertaining to the machines…
